At Shipping Container Services (SCS), we aim to make the payment process as simple, secure, and transparent as possible. This Payment Policy outlines the terms and conditions relating to payment for products and services purchased through our website. By placing an order with us, you agree to the terms set out below.

  1. Currency:

All prices displayed on our website are quoted in South African Rand (ZAR) and include VAT at the applicable rate unless otherwise stated. SCS is a registered VAT vendor in South Africa.

  1. Accepted Payment Methods:

We accept the following payment methods:

  • EFT (Electronic Funds Transfer) – Our preferred payment method for larger transactions. Banking details will be provided upon order confirmation.
  • Credit and Debit Cards – We accept Visa and Mastercard payments processed securely through our payment gateway.
  • Cash – Accepted for in-person transactions at our Durban premises only.
  1. Payment Terms:

3.1. Full payment is required before delivery or collection of any container unless a prior credit arrangement has been agreed upon in writing with SCS management.

3.2. Orders will only be processed and confirmed once payment has been received and cleared in full.

3.3. For EFT payments, proof of payment must be emailed to contact@shippingcontainerservices.co.za to expedite order processing.

  1. Pricing and VAT:

4.1. All prices are subject to change without notice. The price applicable to your order is the price confirmed at the time your order is placed.

4.2. VAT is charged at the current South African rate as prescribed by the South African Revenue Service (SARS). A valid VAT invoice will be issued upon payment.

  1. Payment Security:

We take the security of your payment information seriously. All online card transactions are processed through a secure, encrypted payment gateway compliant with the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS). We do not store your card details on our servers.

  1. Failed or Declined Payments:

If your payment is declined or fails for any reason, your order will not be processed. Please contact your bank or payment provider, or reach out to us at contact@shippingcontainerservices.co.za for assistance.

  1. Disputes:

Any payment disputes must be raised within 7 days of the transaction. This policy is subject to the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008 and the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act 25 of 2002 of South Africa. Nothing in this policy limits your statutory rights under applicable South African consumer legislation.
